Now, california voters are being asked to boost the statewide minimum wage again, just two years after the landmark $15 wage championed by unions and embraced by democratic politicians nationwide took effect.
This means effective january 1, 2024, california’s minimum wage will increase to $16.00 per hour for all employers, regardless of size. This minimum wage rate applies to all employees, subject to a few limited exceptions (including additional requirements for certain specific industries such as fast food and healthcare ).
